First shipment!

We just received our first package of scraps today!

I'm very excited to have gotten some beautiful colors and lots of different fabrics, so just playing with these in different combinations proves how beautifully diverse our quilt will be once more people contribute.

So excited!

If any of you would like to contribute some scraps to our project, please send an email to

Quilt Pattern

We have finally decided on a pattern for the quilt. It is relatively basic and combines elements of both the Celtic tree and some simple knotwork borders. Color choices are still in the air, but those will depend highly on the materials we receive and the amounts of each.

We've also decided to create the front of the quilt first, and then continue to create the reverse color scheme on the back. This will allow the project to continue, while still giving us solid goals.

We have received a few monetary donations and are awaiting come donations of fabric from several people who have written for the address. At some point we hope to have enough funding to be able to take on a PO box so that we can post the address continually, but for safety reasons we don't want to post our home address online.

All in all, things are going quite well and feedback has been overwhelmingly positive!

Please help us spread the word about the project, and if you have a website where you would like to post a blog or ad a link back to us, please let us know so we can add you to our Supporter's page.

Truly Blessed

The outpouring of support today alone has been tremendous, and I have to express my heartfelt thanks to all of you who helped promote the project!

We have received several mails and donations to help get us started and many of you are helping to spread the word through your journals, facebook pages and blogs.

I am truly looking forward to getting started on this project and cannot wait for things to start arriving so that I can begin piecing things together and building a list of those who have helped!

Thank you all again, so very much.

This really is what the spirit of Unity is all about!

Thank you!

We have already received several mails and notes asking about donations.

At this time, we are only giving out the address through email but we hope to be able to set up a PO box so that we can post it here.

Anyone interested in sending donations, please visit our Donations page by clicking the tab above.

Thank you all!

Hello and Welcome!

This project stems from a lifetime of searching; searching for acceptance for myself and my loved ones no matter what their sex, color, preferences, faults or pastimes. The idea is simple, to take small pieces of fabric sent in by others and create a quilt symbolizing Yggdrasil, The World Tree or Tree of Life.

Many years ago, I set out to unite a group of people of all religions, many of those people I consider today to be my closest friends. One of them, I married 13 years ago. It is through my experiences with those people, the love and support they have shown me over the years, their diversity of spirit, attitude, thinking and belief, that I want to extend those same branches and make something beautiful with the help of anyone who will offer it.

I have always been one to dream big. I think dreams should always be big. Dreams should reach to the sky and beyond, possibly out of reach, but always remaining in sight. They give us reason to move forward and strive to keep forging ahead. It is that principle that allows me to envision something hugely beautiful, even though it may be time consuming and equally huge in it's undertaking.

But the sky is the limit, as they say, and I am more than willing to take on that task if it means producing something that others can see as a symbol of unity, diversity, strength and hope.

That being said, we would like to hear from anyone willing to help. This project would be solely run on donations of material, scraps, batting, thread - anything necessary to make a quilt. It might also be of note that I sew by hand (as I do not own a sewing machine). Anyone willing to donate may send an email to Yggrdasil At Accidental Squirrel

Thank you to everyone who has already expressed their support. It is because of you that I have faith in unity.
